How To Set Up Heliqore 2MFA

Two-factor authentication, or 2MFA, adds an extra layer of security to your Heliqore account. You can use an authenticator app such as Microsoft Authenticator or Google Authenticator, or enable SMS MFA by adding and verifying your mobile number.

Before You Start

You will need:

  • your phone
  • access to the App Store or Google Play Store
  • your Heliqore username and password

Choose Your 2MFA Method

Heliqore supports two common second-factor methods:

  • Authenticator app such as Microsoft Authenticator or Google Authenticator
  • SMS MFA by adding and verifying your mobile number in international format

The authenticator app option remains the best fit for most users, but SMS MFA is now also available if your workflow is better suited to text-message codes.

Option 1: Set Up An Authenticator App

Step 1: Download Microsoft Authenticator

  1. Open the App Store on iPhone or the Google Play Store on Android.
  2. Search for Microsoft Authenticator.
  3. Tap Download or Install.
  4. Open the app once it has finished installing.
  5. If prompted, allow camera access. This is needed to scan the QR code during setup.

Step 2: Sign In To Heliqore

  1. Open the Heliqore sign-in page.
  2. Enter your username and password.
  3. When prompted, choose to set up 2MFA using an Authenticator App.

Step 3: Add Heliqore To Microsoft Authenticator

  1. A QR code will appear on your Heliqore setup screen.
  2. Open Microsoft Authenticator on your phone.
  3. Tap the + icon to add an account.
  4. Select Other account.
  5. Tap Scan a QR code.
  6. Use your phone camera to scan the QR code shown on the Heliqore screen.

After scanning, Microsoft Authenticator will create a new entry for your Heliqore account.

Step 4: Enter The Verification Code

  1. Microsoft Authenticator will display a 6-digit code.
  2. Enter this code into the Heliqore verification screen.
  3. Follow any final prompts to complete setup.

Once this is done, your 2MFA will be active.

If You Cannot Scan The QR Code

If scanning does not work, you may be able to enter the setup details manually.

  1. On the Heliqore setup screen, look for a manual setup key, setup code, or similar option.
  2. In Microsoft Authenticator, tap the + icon.
  3. Choose Other account.
  4. Select the manual entry option, if available.
  5. Enter Heliqore as the account name.
  6. Enter the setup key shown on the Heliqore screen.
  7. Microsoft Authenticator will generate a 6-digit code.
  8. Enter that code into Heliqore to complete the setup.

Option 2: Set Up SMS MFA

  1. Sign in to the Heliqore secure app.
  2. Open Settings.
  3. Select Add Phone Number or Update Phone Number.
  4. Enter your mobile number in international format, for example +61412345678.
  5. Save the number and wait for the SMS verification code.
  6. Enter the code to verify the number.
  7. Once verified, SMS MFA becomes available as a Cognito MFA option for your account.

Helpful Tips

  • Make sure your phone’s date and time are set automatically.
  • Enter the 6-digit code before it refreshes.
  • Keep Microsoft Authenticator installed on your phone for future logins.
  • For SMS MFA, always use international phone format with a leading +.
  • If you change or replace your phone, you may need help setting up 2MFA again.
